The
training in 4WD skills available through the Holden 4WD Club of SA, is nationally
recognised through the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA). It is part
of the National Outdoor Recreation Industry Training Package and covers a range
of competencies, specified by ANTA.
The course covers skills required for both
basic and advanced Four Wheel Driving and financial club members are encouraged
to undertake training and assessment.
We conduct theory sessions usually twice
per year, depending on the level of demand. These are usually structured as a
full day session on a Sunday. This will also cover vehicle inspection.
Practical
training trips are conducted throughout the year. For most competencies, training
and assessment needs to be completed a number of times in different situations/ environments.
This is seen as the most practical way to complete assessment.
As a general rule,
training will usually be delivered on structured 'training trips', while assessments
will usually be conducted during normal club trips.
